*This is the Beautiful Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, Georgia where my husband, Dan, and I recently spent our “44th” Anniversary! We had lunch on the river at the CANOE Restaurant and then walked through the beautiful gardens and pathways along the riverside. What a day to remember …many wonderful years God has given to us with much to be grateful for.
I love life, sharing about the goodness of God, meeting people, my special friends and experiencing fun times with those who are close to me. Besides God being “top priority” in my life, my husband and family (two married daughters, their husbands, two Kindergarten aged granddaughters, a “4” year old grandson and our newest little grandson who was born this June 2016) are the joy in our life. My family brings such happy times, balance and fun into everything we do together. It’s always refreshing to my soul having the family around and especially when our two little granddaughters and grandson enter the door for visits with great big smiles, outstretched arms and exuberant energy. That’s when my world lights up like a celebration getting ready to begin!
Oh, by the way…I really enjoy neat little coffee shops and quaint little town cafes — they remind me of my Southern roots growing up in North Carolina as a girl in a tiny little Southern town.
~ I was born and raised in the Tarheel State of North Carolina. I’m a Southern Belle through and through and not ashamed to “own that title” of Southerner. 🙂
I love little towns, friendly people with a warm heart, beautiful flowers in my yard and spending time with family and friends. If I had a front porch like the one below, you would probably find me on the porch waving at you when you passed by. Hospitality, kindness and a warm heart goes a long way with me.
I’m so grateful that I was raised in a little Southern town that gave me lifelong memories of what life was truly like back in the forties, fifties and sixties. Summer nights in a little town were often spent looking into the still, dark, night sky at the trillions of stars and feeling and sensing the presence of God all around. From an early teenager, I have been sensitive to God’s presence.
I fell in love with Jesus when I was a young girl but really grew spiritually after I married my wonderful husband, Dan. We’ve been married now for “44” years and our love for one another is sweeter than ever. Both of us had a God encounter after our first child was born and we soon discovered and knew the calling on our life was to be “full time ministry.” We have now been serving the Lord in ministry for 40 years and it has been such a joy and fulfilling destiny for me. I’ve been a pastor’s wife for all these years and have had the opportunity to birth and lead vibrant ministries to women that have brought life, hope, encouragement and purpose to hundreds of lives. After retiring from Public School teaching, my schedule was ‘freed up” to be able to travel with my husband and to minister in churches, conferences, small groups or one on one. God has been good to us along this journey called Life and we continue to embrace our destiny and purpose in HIM!
The Lord has called me to “bring good news to the poor…to bind up the broken-hearted and proclaim freedom to the captives and release to the prisoners of darkness…to proclaim God’s favor…to bestow on them a crown of beauty…the oil of gladness and a garment of praise…so they will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.” Isaiah 61:1-3. Serving Christ with ALL my being is the hunger and desire of my heart. Watching the Lord at work in lives is awesome, powerful and humbling! My husband and I have been a ministry team for all these years. We minister together and separately. The Lord’s anointing is what makes the difference as lives are touched and changed forever by the power of God. I stand utterly amazed at the Goodness of God!
The ministry I have and the spiritual gifts that are given to me are not mine…they are God’s gifts in me. I am merely a steward of God’s impartation for the benefit of His people.
Please grab your cup of hot coffee , tea or cocoa and stop by often for visits where we can share Spirit to Spirit, Heart to Heart as we Keep It Real! You will probably find me sitting on my Southern porch swing (if I had one that is… 🙂
I’m thrilled and grateful for you and the interest shown for “Sheila’s Heart.”
