CHURCH ON FIRE!

From the moment we stepped off the plane last Friday morning in Ohio, my husband, Dan and I were filled with GREAT ANTICIPATION and EXPECTATION in our heart and spirit.  We had been in preparation for the “CHURCH ON FIRE” Advance for the people of Community of the Holy Spirit for weeks. A promise in our heart from God reassured us this would be a landmark ministry weekend with many lives touched and changed by the power of God. Our prayer was for the Lord to elevate this Body of Believers to the NEXT LEVEL in Him! AND…that’s EXACTLY WHAT HE DID!

Pastor Chris and Minister Vicki Fisher are two of the most gracious people I know. They embraced us with such love, warmth, and humility of heart and spirit. They welcomed us into their home and family and made us a part of their lives. Their openness to the Holy Spirit working through us for their church was a “Freeing” experience.  It allowed God to move through us and to do what He had sent us there to accomplish for Him.

Friday evening we met in pastor’s home with the church leadership. We shared a delicious home cooked meal together, many laughs, some tears and a heartfelt time of sharing and direction for the weekend ahead. It was an evening given to preparing hearts for the “CHURCH ON FIRE” ADVANCE. The humility in that group of leadership around the table really caught my attention. Why? When leadership desires nothing less than the best for God’s people… ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! The congregation had been well prepared for this Advance by their pastor and other leaders and it was evident! Everyone came to receive something from the Lord and He did not disappoint anyone.

Saturday was a glorious blend of Worship, Teaching and the Demonstration of God’s power working among us. The dynamic workbooks created specifically for the “CHRUCH ON FIRE” ADVANCE were given to the people. They will be used by the people for a point of reference and study for what they learned and experienced. Sunday morning the atmosphere was charged with the Spirit of God. Pastor Chris led us right into the throne room of the Living God and tears were flowing freely. To be honest with you…I nearly used up an entire box of tissue from my tears. Tissues were scattered around the floor where I had been sitting. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it when God just shows up! Dan’s Sunday message on “The Seven Spirits of God” was electrifying. THE MAN WAS ANOINTED! Without God’s anointing on us …we are nothing! With His anointing…lives are touched and changed forever!

The culmination for the “CHURCH ON FIRE” weekend was a “Fire Tunnel” Sunday morning. For those of you who have never experienced this…WOW! The ultimate proof of God’s presence is changed lives! This is what took place at Community of the Holy Spirit and the “CHURCH ON FIRE ADVANCE” this past weekend.

We are Deeply Grateful to the Lord for such a loving and caring family as Community of the Holy Spirit.  You reach beyond the walls of your church into the community where broken and hurting people can feel the love of Christ through you.

Thank You Pastor Chris and Minister Vicki… God’s Chosen Vessels and Shepherds to lead the flock of God in Willoughby. HE IS WELL PLEASED!

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL

Recently, I spoke at a Mom 2 Mom Retreat here in the Atlanta area to women of all ages on the topic “JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL.” Below is my ministry message notes briefly summarized. I shared about this Road of Life that all of us are on and the importance of allowing the Lord to make the difference in life after giving Jesus the Wheel and relinquishing control.

  • Psalm 46: 1-2, and 10God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble. Therefore; we will not fear…Be still (Cease Striving) AND know that I’M THE LORD.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6… “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

There is a Road called “Life” and all of us are on this road. On the Road of Life…Sometimes, you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug! Sometimes, you eat the bear….AND, sometimes, the bear eats you! I know I certainly don’t like being the splattered bug. But, in all seriousness life’s roads can be very treacherous and God wants to help each of us to walk this road properly with His wisdom and guidance.

A few years ago, the American Idol Winner, Carrie Underwood, released a song called, “Jesus Take The Wheel.” This song sent her to the top as a Superstar. The words are powerful… “Jesus, Take The Wheel! Take it from my hands ‘Cause I can’t do this on my own. I’m letting go. So, give me one more chance. AND…Save me from this road I’m on. Jesus, Take the wheel!”

I.  What Does The “Road of Life” Represent To You?

  • It may be an Overwhelmed Life with cares and stress more than you can handle
  • The Struggles of Raising a Family …Sometimes, without the help, support and love from others
  • Financial and Emotional BurdensJust too much to bear
  • Health Problems that can destroy your future
  • Unemployment or a Dead End Job
  • A Misspent Youth … You feel like your future is ruined

II.  What Does The “Wheel” Stand For In Your life?

  • It’s the way you STEER your life…the direction you go and where you turn
  • For the girl in Carrie Underwood’s song, she was on a slippery road but lost control!
  • It’s all about WHO is in Control of your life!
  • Obviously, if the Lord isn’t…it’s time to allow Him to be in control

III.  What Has To Happen For You To Want To Give The Wheel To Jesus?

  • For the girl in Carrie Underwood’s song…she was so scared that she threw her hands into the air and said, “Jesus take the wheel. Take it from my hands ‘Cause I can’t do this on my own anymore. I’m letting go so give me one more chance and save me from this road I’m on. Jesus take the wheel.”
  • For you, it may be a Wake-Up Call where you realize that you can’t survive without God’s help

IV.  How do you relinquish the controls of your life and give Him the wheel?

A.      You have to “Come To The End Of Yourself!”

B.      “Letting Go of the Wheel”  doesn’t mean that you bail out of life ….it means  His   Hands are securely on Your Hands helping you to steer your life in the right direction.

 C.      For Christ to in control of your life means…You Must Be Born Again!

 D.      Ask God’s Spirit to Speak into Your Life

  • God speaks to you through His Word (Begin with Psalms and read the Four Gospels (Good News)
  • God speaks to you through your pastor…listen to his sermons
  • God can speak into your life with a word from HIM. This means He is aware of you and loves you so much that He wants to share His kind intentions with you. A true word from God will never violate scripture. AND…It can change your life forever.
  • Follow the pattern of Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, AND do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight.

 V.     Will I See A Difference In My Life After I “Give Jesus The Wheel?”

You may still find yourself in the same kind of mess (it doesn’t just  disappear suddenly) but your hope will be a “NEW POWER” available to you that you didn’t have before. That Power is called, “His GRACE!” AMEN!

Ministry at the Community of the Holy Spirit in Willoughby, Ohio!

(October 21-23, 2011… Church Advance and Sunday Morning Service)

If it is true that a picture can speak a thousand words, then I’m going to let these photos speak for themselves. I know the Spirit of what took place this past weekend at The Community of the Holy Spirit Church Advance was absolutely powerful in God’s Word, Wisdom, Truth, Love and Spirit. There was no lack. People came all weekend excited and expecting to hear the word of the Lord and to receive through the Gifts of the Spirit. The Lord met His people in so many ways. There was an anointing service for all needs and God was so there. His presence was over whelming in all the services!  I kept having to catch my breath because I was overcome with the sweet spirit and anointing in that place. WOW!

My husband, Dan, and I had the wonderful opportunity to minister Friday evening to the church leadership and all day on Saturday at the Church Advance on “The Remnant Church.”  Dan delivered the Sunday morning message called, “The Mighty Warriors of CHS Willoughby!” Morning worship with Pastors Chris and Vicki Fisher along with the worship team brought us immediately into the presence of the Lord. Thank you to Pastors Chris and Vicki Fisher, the leadership and to all the beautiful people of CHS for inviting us to minister to God’s people! It was so refreshing in every sense of the word.  I’m still basking in the “over flow” from all that took place. What a sweet fragrance released among us. AND…I’m still wearing that fragrance now that I’ve returned home.

The Supernatural and You – Vessels of the Supernatural!

What an honor it was to speak at The Cove Bible Advance in Conyers, GA recently. I was stirred in my spirit to bring a message about God’s Supernatural Power in people’s lives. I’d like to share with you a summary of the ministry that was brought to the people at THE COVE.

The two scriptures that provided the foundation for my message were:

1 Cor. 2:4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power.

Eph. 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.

People are fascinated by the Supernatural. Hollywood even makes movies about it. (But they’re not talking about the same Supernatural that I am.) Supernatural is not explainable by the known forces or laws of nature. SUPER means above, beyond and surpassing. Supernatural is beyond the natural. It is God working in and through you. You are to be a vessel of the Supernatural.

Jesus was all about the Supernatural. He set people FREE everywhere He went by the power of God. He healed all kinds of sickness and disease and cast out demons that caused physical problems. People can be bound emotionally and physically but this is not how He wants you to live out your life. He wants to bring emotional and physical healing to your body. Jesus came to set the captives Free and He’s here to set the captives Free NOW! People were amazed at the power of God that worked and flowed through Jesus. He often just spoke the words of healing and life to those infirmed and they were healed. He is a master at bringing life where there is emotional and spiritual death.

The Lord will calm your inner being with His Peace in the perilous situations that surround your life. He can give you wisdom and discernment in making decisions. Jesus will open your eyes spiritually where there has been spiritual blindness and deadness to a deeper and intimate walk with HIM.

Why Did Jesus Do These Miracles?

  1. He was aware of the need for hurting people and had compassion for them.
  2. He saw their Faith or the Faith of their Friends & Family and responded to the needs.
  3. He came to destroy the works of the devil in people’s lives and set the captives free!
  4. He proved His Authority over everything: all physical ailments, sin, nature, the devil, unbelief and even death.
  5. His ultimate intention was for those who received miracles to follow Him.

If you’ve ever experienced the Supernatural in your life, you are never the same. It’s LIFE CHANGING!

If you read the story of Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52, you’ll discover a pattern of what it takes for the Supernatural to take place in your own life.

1.    Know Who Jesus Really Is. Bartimaeus called Jesus, “Son of David” which meant he knew the Old Testament scriptures and Jesus was the PROMISED Messiah that would deliver his people.

2.    Be Persistent. Don’t give up when you do not get the answer or result you think you should be getting or when others try to discourage you.

3.    Anticipate and Expect the Supernatural. Bartimaeus threw away his ‘beggar’s cloak.” Jesus WANTS to do the impossible for you. His ‘beggar’s cloak was the connection he had to his problems. Do not “OWN” the problem!

4.    Be Specific.  Tell God what you need.

5.    Have Faith. Faith can move the Heart of God for the Supernatural.

6.     Follow Jesus. Don’t forget what He did for you!  After Bartimaeus received his miracle, he followed Jesus.

If you desire the Supernatural to be a part of your life and walk with God, you must believe for the reality of miracles to come alive. Always be aware that God has already done miracles in your life and remember those miracles all the days of your life. Share them with others in the proper timing. Know that Jesus wants to do a miracle for you and through you. You can BE A VESSEL OF THE SUPERNATURAL. Remember, the Supernatural should own the vessel. When the Holy Spirit is living right within you there is the power of God within. Do what Jesus did!

Destiny Revealed

Secrets and Clues to Discovering Your Destiny

Earlier this year I was honored to be invited to speak at Kelly Greer’s “Destiny Bound” Ladies Retreat. The title of my message was“DESTINY REVEALED…Secrets and clues to Discovering Your Destiny.”The following is a brief summary of the message I brought to women who came with hungry hearts and open spirits.

Scriptural Theme: Deuteronomy 29:29 “ The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.” There are some things revealed to you in life. One of these things I’d like to share with you is YOUR DESTINY!

The “PROMISE” of Destiny reveals why you were created. Since your destiny comes from God who created you, your destiny cannot be separated from whom God wants you to be and what He wants you to do for HIM during your lifetime. “God knew you BEFORE you were born and ‘Destined’ you to do good things for Him”…and He wants to REVEAL that Destiny to you (Romans 8:29; Ephesians 2:10). However, there are some requirements in discovering your destiny.

First, you must “Walk with God,” which requires that you accept His Son as your personal Savior. He has good intentions for you, just like a good parent has for his or her children. A good parent recognizes natural gifts in their child and guides the child towards the fulfillment of that gift or talent, often through providing an education. A good parent encourages a child even when they fail and points them towards the bigger picture. But God is BETTER than a human parent and has infinite power to make these things happen for you.

“Walking with God” means reading His Letter written to you. His Letter is His Word…the Bible. The more you read His letter, the more you’ll know who He is. You will be amazed at how much the Lord desires to speak to you about your life and future through His Word.

“Walking with God” also means finding a church home where you can be spiritually fed and fellowship with other believers in times of joy as well as times of sorrow. God always provides the missing ingredients and provisions you need through a Spiritual Family if you open your heart. When you make yourself available to attend ministry gatherings, you can hear from God and receive ministry from others. It is LIFE GIVING!

Lastly, “Walking with God” requires taking time out of your crazy schedule to spend time with Him, talking and stopping to listen to what He is saying to you. Sometimes we just need to get quiet and listen to that still small voice.

Most people think Destiny is “Blind Fate” while others think you can make your own destiny in life. Sometimes you have to get rid of “Road Blocks” in your life in order to move forward in your God given destiny. God is a loving Creator who personally knows you and offers a gracious plan that enhances your natural gifts for the benefit of others. Simply put, your Destiny is the final outcome of your influence in people’s lives. Always know there is a difference between a career and a Divine Destiny. Divine Destiny connects you to God in your career. You are on a different level when God gets involved!

Your Destiny is not complicated to discover. It’s what is in your heart to do! Do you want to start a business, become a teacher, pursue an upper management position, be a wonderful parent, or go into areas of ministry? Once you’ve realized your destiny, start out slow and let it grow. Sometimes it means sharing your thoughts about your destiny even with your pastor to get his or her input. “Unless you’ve been faithful over that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own” (Luke 16:12).

Finally, the “POWER” of Destiny will transform your life because you now have a passion for what you’re doing. It becomes a joy and not a burden. The “Power” of Destiny will change the relationship you have with your children and grandchildren. AND… it instills confidence to meet God when your life on this earth is over. You can stand proud that you fulfilled the mission for which you were equipped.
