Finding Comfort!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gave us.
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ) New Century Version
As Christians, we can be assured of this fact: Whether we find ourselves on the pinnacle of the mountain or in the darkest depths of the valley, God is there.
If you have been touched by the transforming love of Jesus, then you have every reason to live courageously. After all, Christ has already won the ultimate battle – and He won it for you ~ on the cross at Calvary. Still, even if you are a dedicated Christian, you may find yourself discouraged by the inevitable disappointments and tragedies that occur in the lives of believers and non-believers alike.
The next time you find your courage tested to the limit, lean upon God’s promises. Trust his Son. Remember that God is always near and that He is your protector and your deliverer. When you are worried, anxious, or afraid, call upon Him and accept the touch of His comforting hand. Remember that God rules both mountaintops and valleys …with limitless wisdom and love ~ now and forever.
Put your hand into the hand of God. He gives the calmness and serenity of heart and soul.
Corrie ten Boom so beautifully states, “O Lord, thank you that Your side of the embroidery of our life is always perfect. That is such a comfort when our side is sometimes so mixed up.”
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12) NASB
But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously ~ take God seriously. (Micah 6-8) MSG
My Prayer for Grace ~ Today, Lord, let me count my blessings with thanksgiving in my heart. You have cared for me and I will give You the glory and the praise. Let me accept Your blessings and Your gifts, and let me share them with others, just as You first shared them with me. Amen!
